My face remembers going Apple bobbing in the cold water,

My legs remember falling over 21 times,

My body remembers swimming in the cold water,

I maumahara ahau ki ngenge me te mamae i ōku amo.
My arms remember getting tired and sore,

I maumahara ahau te papa wera rawa i ōku matiwae.
My feet remember burning concrete,

I maumahara ahau te makariri i tōku hinengaro.
My mind remembers getting a brain freeze,

My hands remember throwing my tennis ball,

Ko te tumanako ka hoki mai a te wā raumati.
Oh, how I wish it was summer again.

Na Ezra Tewano
